Attention Denver Landlords…

Investing in real estate has so, so many benefits and can be an amazing way to diversify assets, build equity and get cash flow. But knowing the laws of the land can be quite overwhelming if you’re new to the real estate game. And becoming a new landlord is no exception.

There are quite a few things you need to be mindful of when managing your own rental properties – including the regulations the city or county roll out. Here in Denver there are a few things to keep in mind if you own rentals.

Starting in 2024, owners of single units will be required to have a rental license. Beginning on Jan 1, 2024, a license will be required for anyone offering, providing, or operating a residential rental property consisting of a single rental dwelling unit on a single parcel. For example, this would require a license for a single-family home for rent or a triplex where one unit is for rent.
