What it Costs to Live in Denver

Colorado is a magical place to live. You are near the front range, which boasts trails to hike, run, mountain bike on, there are almost 300 days of sun a year, and you are just hours away from exploring the Rocky Mountains, skiing slopes with the finest powder in the world, some would say, and endless mountain towns that have views and outdoor activities for days. Plus, with a strong job market that includes industries including tech (Slack, Robinhood, Palantir), Aerospace (over 290 companies), Healthcare & Wellness and IT-Software companies. The ability to work and play here in Colorado can’t be beat!

So you’re ready to make the move! First things first….reach out to me to talk through your needs, if you have any questions about the different neighborhoods and what you are specifically looking for in a home. And if you’re not exactly ready to buy, don’t worry, I’ve got you!

I just had a meeting with a referral that is making the move to Denver and she is excited! She’s been in Chicago for the past 11 years, has been to Denver but isn’t uber familiar with it, and isn’t ready to buy just yet. She’s looking for a mix of city, neighborhood feel, wants walkability and access to nature. She’s single, in her 40’s and looking to meet people and explore everything Denver has to offer.

Here are the neighborhoods I told her to check-out, along with the median rent prices for 1-bedrooms.

Old Town Arvada

Old Town Arvada is near and dear to my heart, as Mike and I live walking distance from the lively scene! From Breweries (DBC & New Image are favorites) to coffee shops (Bluegrass Coffee & Bourbon which also doubles as an amazing bar! ) and restaurants to frisbee golf courses, parks and the Ralston Creek Bike path!

Median rent for a 1-bedroom $1,295 (as of April 2023)

And if you get thirsty, Odell Brewing Co and Joy Ride Brewing can quench your thirst! Hungry little fella? Head to the Edgewater Public Market to try more than 15 food stalls with food from around the world, then stroll the cute shops or hang in Roger’s Bar.
